This policy applies to orders placed on the United States storefront of Modbox Container GmbH (prices shown in US dollars) and delivered from one of our US yards.
30-day return window
You may return a container or accessory within 30 days of delivery. To start a return, contact us with your order number within that period. We will confirm the return and arrange collection.
Condition of returned goods
Goods must be returned in the condition in which they were delivered, unmodified, and accessible for collection at the original delivery address. A used container is graded on delivery; the same grade is expected back. Cutting, welding, painting, insulating or otherwise modifying a unit ends the right to return it. Where a returned unit shows damage beyond ordinary handling, we may deduct the diminished value from the refund and will say so in writing before doing so.
Return freight
The buyer bears the cost of return transport. Containers are heavy freight; collection is by truck, with a crane or side-lifter where the unit cannot be reached by a flatbed. We quote the exact collection cost before the return is arranged, and it depends on distance to the nearest yard, container size, and access at the site. As a guide, collection within roughly 150 miles of a yard is usually in the range of $300 to $900. Any crane or side-lifter cost arising from how the unit was sited is also borne by the buyer.
Refunds
Once the goods have been received and inspected at the yard, we refund the purchase price by wire transfer to the account the order was paid from, within 14 days of receipt. The original delivery, which is included in the price, is not refunded separately; the collection cost is invoiced or deducted as agreed.
Damaged or incorrect deliveries
Inspect the unit on delivery and note any damage on the delivery paperwork. If a unit arrives damaged or is not what was ordered, tell us within 7 days and we will repair, replace or collect it at our cost.

Returns go to the yard nearest the delivery address, which we confirm when the return is arranged:
